“Why should I care about politics? Politics sure as hell doesn’t care about me.”
That’s what one Omaha-area woman said to me when we were talking about this race and how important it was for Nebraska and the country.
She’s not alone — the Pew Research Center recently released a study that showed that just 17% of Americans now say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right “just about always” or “most of the time.”
That means that 83% of Americans don’t trust the government. And to be frank, I can’t say I blame them.
