Democrats across Nebraska are endorsing Denise Powell for Congress.

To protect the Blue Dot … fight for abortion rights … and stop Donald Trump’s attacks on our Democracy.

The Nebraska Democratic Party Black Caucus endorses Denise because she has “taken on MAGA extremists and won.”

And pro-choice organizations say “Denise Powell is the fighter we need to protect abortion rights.”

Denise Powell is the candidate all these Democrats trust to fight back against Donald Trump.

Previous Information

While the mail and digital strategy should not change from below, starting as soon as possible, voters should see on TV (at least 500 GRPS a week of broadcast) that:

 John Cavanaugh is jeopardizing the Blue Dot we fought so hard for … for his own political ambitions. If John Cavanaugh goes to Congress, the Governor gets to fill Cavanaugh’s state senate seat with a MAGA Republican … giving Republicans the supermajority they need to complete Trump’s redistricting power grab and eliminate the blue dot, ban abortion and gut voting rights.

In mail and on digital platforms, voters should immediately begin learning about Denise Powell’s proven record of fighting back against MAGA extremists and what she will do in Congress to stop Donald Trump and ICE.

Voters should first learn about Denise’s proven record:

The daughter of Cuban and Chilean immigrants, community leader and mom, Denise Powell has taken on MAGA extremists, and won.  After Trump was elected in 2016, she started an organization that has supported hundreds of women running for office and fought back against MAGA extremists, then brought together doctors and community leaders to stop the state legislature from passing a total abortion ban after the fall of Roe vs. Wade.  Now, Denise is running for Congress to stop Donald Trump’s attack on our democracy.

After learning more about Denise’s record, voters should learn more about her work to protect immigrants and hold ICE accountable:

The daughter of Cuban and Chilean immigrants, Denise Powell has been on the front lines helping provide immigrants with legal aid. She was the first candidate to call for Kristi Noem’s impeachment and in Congress, Denise will hold ICE agents accountable, put an end to ICE’s lawlessness and stop Donald Trump’s attacks on our democracy.

For mail, the priorities are:

• Registered Democrats who voted in 1 of the last 3 primaries
• Registered Independents who voted in 1 of the last 3 primaries with a support score of >80
• Newly registered Democrats since Nov 2024
• Registered Democrats who voted in the 2025 municipal election
• Registered Democrats who voted in 0/3 previous primaries who requested a vote-by-mail ballot

For digital, the priorities are: 

• YouTube targeting ages 35+ district-wide 
• Streaming ads and social ads targeting Likely Dem Primary Voters and Independent voters with Dem Primary Vote History 
• Voters should continue to see static news ads on Meta and start seeing 15s video on Meta and nonskip 15s and 30s video on YouTube.

While positive messaging on Denise should continue all the way through the election, starting in week six, voters should also begin seeing on digital and reading in the mail that John Cavanaugh is jeopardizing the Blue Dot Democrats fought so hard to save in 2024 and is putting his personal political ambitions ahead of stopping Donald Trump.

If John Cavanaugh goes to Congress, the Governor gets to fill Cavanaugh’s state senate seat with a MAGA Republican … expanding their supermajority and giving Republicans the votes they need to complete Trump’s redistricting power grab and eliminate the swing district that has given Democrats an electoral vote in the last two presidential elections.  Republicans will have the votes to ban all abortions, gut voting rights and cripple public school funding.

For mail, the priorities are:

• Registered Democrats who voted in 1 of the last 3 primaries
• Registered Independents who voted in 1 of the last 3 primaries with a support score of >80 
• Newly registered democrats since Nov 2024 + the permanent absentee list
• Registered Democrats on the permanent absentee ballot list who voted in 1 of the last 3 primaries
