Omaha, NE – The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) today endorsed Denise Powell (NE-02) for Congress, recognizing her record of fighting for working families, economic equity, and community investment in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, and as the only Democrat who can protect the state’s coveted Blue Dot Electoral College vote.

Throughout her career, Powell has tirelessly fought against Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda — fighting for working families, to lower the cost of living, protect Medicaid, defend abortion access, and hold ICE accountable. Her campaign has built a historic coalition of more than 60 local and national endorsers, including BOLD PAC, Elect Democratic Women, EMILYs List, former NE-02 Democratic nominee Tony Vargas, the Nebraska Democratic Party Black & Latino Caucuses, and dozens of local elected officials and leaders across Nebraska. She has outraised every other candidate in the race, including the lone Trump-endorsed Republican.

Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District is one of the only districts in the country that awards its Electoral College vote independently, making it a nationally critical battleground that Democrats cannot afford to lose.
